Art Teacher Ms. Zhu Wei Conducted Online Course for Overseas Chinese Teenagers
Invited by Overseas Chinese Affairs of Suzhou Municipal People’s Government, Ms. Zhu Wei, teacher from Art Department of our school, conducted a novel and entertaining online paper modeling lesson at 4 pm on September 19th. It’s one of the series of “Jiangsu online Chinese culture courses for overseas Chinese teenagers to strengthen relationships and overcome challenges”, which aims at spreading Chinese splendid traditional culture to the world, and satisfying overseas Chinese teenagers’ strong needs to learn more about Chinese culture during COVID-19 pandemic.
Teacher Zhu has made enormous effort to prepare the online paper modeling lesson within three weeks. Paper modeling is a three-dimensional molding technique in which a 3D object is formed through hand rubbing, pinching, twisting, twining, etc. , reinforced with glue and tissues, and finished after being colored. It is generally adopted in children’s handcraft creative work lesson. Paper molding is an excellent choice for the webcast lesson since it’s easy to find the materials, and there is so much fun while doing and so much surprise in the outcome.
As one of the Chinese language promotion bases, our school will shoulder more for the beneficial project in the future and will further contribute to promoting Chinese culture in oversea countries and strengthening the cohesion between overseas Chinese.
